Finding a vacation spot that won’t destroy your wallet can be tough. Our favorite vacation spot with the kids (also a favorite Date night/parent get away spot) is Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Santa Rosa , and Okaloosa Island Island. I mean who doesn’t love the beach scene?
Seeing as we are a large family if we plan to stay instead of it being just a full day event we do have to check for large family accommodating hotels that won’t break the bank.
The Emerald Grande:
Here you are basically renting an apartment! The floor plans range from one bedroom to four bedrooms with same number of bathrooms. For us it normally costs $335.00 per night for a top corner 3 bed/3bath apartment room that overlooks the ocean with balcony.
The price is up there so this is a one to two night stay.
Nightly beach Condo rentals:
Beach condos range from $130 and up a night and normally sleep up to six people. For the right price you could stay a week for little under $1000.00.
Kid-friendly Destin Florida
We love the beach and Destin Commons Outside Mall.
The commons mall is dog friendly and some stores allow them inside. The commons also features a train ride and splash pad multiple restaurants and outlets including Bass Pro Shop, Books a Million and an oversized candy store.
Harbor Walk Village:
You can watch the charter boats bring in the catches of the day, find great new restaurants,ice cream shops, bars, stores and more. This place also has a multitude of water activities just waiting for you, such as day cruises,parasailing , glass bottom boat toura, jetski and kayak rentals and a real pirate ship ride! It’s $10 parking and you can stay as long as you wish!
Big Kahuna’s:
At Big Kahuna’s you will find more than 40 water attractions, which includes raft rides, body slides, surf simulators, pipeline slides, a lazy river, and a kiddie section with a pool and slides just for younger kids and a mini-golf course. (1007 US Hwy. 98)

Fudpuckers restaurant with at arcade and gator beach ( hold and take pictures with a baby gator )
